FAQs
Window Graphics
What can you tell me about Glasscapes™ rear window graphics?
Contrary to what you may read elsewhere on the internet, not all rear window graphics are the same. All rear window graphics are made from PVC vinyl that has been micro-perforated using a precision mechanical punching machine. Glasscapes vinyl has a 50% hole and 50% material configuration and is made from the heaviest perforated film that is commercially available. Many other manufacturers use cheap imported vinyl that is very thin and can prematurely fail and peel from your window. We print on the highest quality vinyl using premier quality ECO friendly inks that provide the brightest colors you will find. The image that you see when looking at the rear of the vehicle is printed on the outside surface of the vinyl. The back or adhesive side of the material that sticks to the outside window glass is black in color which is what allows you to see from the inside of your vehicle to the outside without actually seeing the printed image. The effect of natural daylight shining on the outside of the image enhances the brilliant colors that we apply to your image. The same is true at night when headlights from vehicles behind you are shining on your rear window. The image is visible anytime light is shining on it. How simple is that? Do Glasscapes™ window graphics attach to the inside or outside of the window?
Our rear window graphics apply to the outside glass surface. How do I know which size image will fit my vehicle?
We have created a simple sizing guide which will enable you to make a quick decision on what size works for you. Our size guide is as simple as buying clothes - X-Size for Large SUV and Full Size Vans. L-Size for all full size pickup trucks such as the Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Dodge Ram, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan. M-Size for all Compact Pickups such as Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, Dodge Dakota. We even had a Size-S for the Chevrolet Avalanche and Cadillac EXT. What if I need a size that is not one of your standard sizes?
The great thing about Glasscapes is that we can create an image for any size window that you have. Because of variations in images we may require an up-charge for additional work required on the artwork in order to make sure it will appear correctly on your image. Do Glasscapes™ come with a warranty?
Glasscapes come with an industry leading 3-year warranty against fading and peeling. Simply provide a copy of the proof of purchase with the date the image was purchased and the reason for the warranty request and we will replace the image. No hassles! I have a rear wiper blade and heated rear window on my vehicle. Will using the wiper and my rear window defroster damage my Glasscapes image?
Using your rear wiper blade will prematurely wear the ink from your window graphic however using your rear defroster will not cause any damage to your image. Using the rear defroster actually helps to dry the image in rainy and wet weather driving conditions therefore improving wet weather visibility out the rear window. The use of snow scrapers can damage the graphic if care is not taken while removing snow and ice. Is it safe to use Rain-X or water repellant spray on the image?
The use of any product such as Rain-X may in fact permanently damage the ink on the image. I have heard that perforated window film is difficult to see through when wet?
During wet weather use you can experience reduced or poor rear vision through the graphic. All perforated film products trap moisture during periods of rain or snowy weather conditions. The use of your vehicles left hand and right hand door mounted rear view mirrors should always be used when backing or changing lanes. Is it OK to take my car through a carwash after I apply the Glasscapes?
We recommend that you wait one week after applying the graphic before you take your vehicle through a commercial car wash or a do-it-yourself spray wash. Hand washing your vehicle in the first week is recommended. The adhesive used on your Glasscapes image sets firmly after 48 hours which is why we recommend waiting a week before using commercial car washes. It is recommended that any high pressure wash nozzle not be placed any close than 1 foot from the surface of the graphic. Treat the graphic as you would any vinyl sticker or pin stripe product and you should have years of enjoyment from your Glasscapes rear window graphic. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaners that contain solvents as this will damage your window graphic. How difficult is it to install Glasscapes™ rear window graphics?
All Glasscapes are shipped with installation instructions. Our rear window graphics are designed with the do-it-your-self customer in mind. A typical installation on a pickup truck rear window takes on average approximately 15-20 minutes. In the event you are not able to install it yourself we recommend contacting your local window tint shop for assistance. Please refer to our Support Page for additional assistance. Will I have difficulty removing the rear window graphic from my vehicle?
When you have decided to remove your rear window graphic from your vehicle you will simply need a thin removal tool such as a plastic scraper blade. Use the tool to lift a small section of the graphic and pull slowly from one corner to begin the removal. Removing the material at room temperature makes the removal a relatively quick process and should only take a few minutes. When you have removed the complete graphic, clean your window with any commercially available window cleaner and the glass should look as good as the day you applied the graphic.
